The second full-length in so many years--and the first since a renowned sex change. Pittsburgh's Jordana Le Sesne is not only America's most controversial drum & bass producer but also the most prolific. She's arguably the first and remains one of few Americans to fully master the art of jungle beat production. That's what Quality Rolls offers, beats: truckloads of chunky, sub-bass thuds alongside carefully carved hard kicks and snare rolls. Devastating tunes like "Get Amped (215 Remix)" and "Deep Stealth" burrow deep into the chest and brutally pound until near cardiac arrest. On a lighter note, jump-up tunes like the DJ SS-inspired "Rock da Party" have break-dance circle written all over them. --Daniel Shumate |
